Self-Care Sunday: Invite Peace And Abundance In Your Mind

“Oh...I just need a day, a vacay, or ok, I will settle for just a moment.” I have found myself saying and hearing this all too often when speaking with my friends and family. Can you relate? Do you ever feel this way? I think we can agree that life is often on 1000, but just one day of mental rest can bring incredible balance to that go-go feeling.

An essential part of self-care is tied to creating your own Perfect Morning Routine. You will reap the benefits all day! This can be accomplished when you start your morning off with peaceful thoughts. Fill your atmosphere with spiritually uplifting music, then enter your day as peacefully as possible. Take a few mindful moments to BREATHE: quiet your mind, focus your thoughts on a favorite scripture, of course - do your gratitude journaling, and then relax before you engage the world. These habits are vital to refresh, rejuvenate, and rebalance the mind.

Now that you have invited harmony into your mind, you can add a few extra soothing treats; sip on some tea and enjoy reflecting on the week. Once you have taken time to reflect, carve out a little time to create mental clarity for the week ahead. Even half an hour to review your upcoming week will replace anxiety with peace of mind.

Did You Know:

An article in Inc. discusses the importance of taking a weekly rest day to regenerate your overall health, including your mental peace. The fact is that the human mind needs downtime, and in our fast-paced culture, we must prioritize it. Taking one day of rest each week helps to reduce stress, increase the quality of sleep, reduce the risk of heart disease, increase productivity and creativity, and allow for a renewed enjoyment of work activities.

In addition, a weekly mental rest day also helps you to be cognitively restored and balanced. The article shared that “people who do not know how to detach from work during their off-time experience increase exhaustion over the course of one year and are less resilient in the face of stressful work conditions.”
